Photo Essay

This weekend, my friend of many years and I are off on a road trip to a wedding in Iowa. On our trip, I captured some special moments of our friendship as well as making a photo essay on the wedding story. This particular essay wasn’t the typical bride and groom at the altar but more of the intimate moments of the couple with their friends and family.
Some of my pictures were a bit blurry so I couldn’t include them in the essay. The ones I chose to include represent those moments that I considered the most memorable. The two people who were married chose a beautiful reception setting that allowed for some romantic shots that are part of my essay.

Photographing people without a particular pose makes the essay read more like a story. Sequencing the pictures just right allows the viewer to create the captions without ever reading the ones posted. Love is not just a feeling to be captured on film. It is a sense in the air that can permeate through a crowd almost as fast as a wildfire in a forest. To be able to experience Nick and Shanna’s mutual respect and love was a very moving experience. The road trip was tedious but the time spent with friends was rewarding.
